Ocala Thompson Terminal Point Technique

A unique type of Ocala chiropractic treatment administered at Chiropractic USA of Jasmine Square by Dr. Renny Edelson, DC, is the Thompson Technique. Based on the work and analysis of Dr. J. Clay Thompson and Dr. Romer Derifield — doctors of chiropractic in the mid-20th century — this technique, also known as the Ocala Thompson Drop Table Technique and the Ocala Thompson Terminal Point Technique.

This technique is a two-step system which emphasizes analysis and treatment. The information collected from the analysis will help Dr. Edelson determine the specific kind of chiropractic therapy that is required for your spinal conditions.

The first step of the Thompson Technique implemented at Chiropractic USA of Jasmine Square consists of the Derifield-Thompson Leg-Check Analysis. The extremities, hips, and spine are checked for subluxations, since any imbalances can affect the core of the body. The Leg-Check Analysis pinpoints each particular section that needs adjustments and reveals any chiropractic conditions that can potentially be harmful to your health, such as an inequality in leg-length. Subluxations can deter proper function of the joints and the Ocala Thompson Terminal Point Technique can restore normal ranges of motion for the spine and extremities.

The second step of the Thompson Technique is administered through high-velocity, low-impact adjustments using manual thrusts using a special table. In developing this technique, Thompson realized that using a regular stationary table did not allow him to perform adjustments effectively. Therefore, he created a table for the Ocala Thompson Drop Table Technique that utilizes a hydraulic system, which drops the table slightly while the patient is receiving spinal and extremity adjustments, but still holds them in place. The slight drop accommodates to the force being applied to the spine, and the patient does not feel any pain as the high-velocity thrusts are administered.

Dr. Edelson, among many other chiropractors around the world, has adopted the Ocala Thompson Terminal Point Technique, or the Ocala Thompson Drop Table Technique, into his chiropractic practice. It has been successful in relieving patients of pain from a variety of chiropractic problems.
